USAID JCAP (Jordan Communication, Advocacy, and Policy Project) – Editorial & Layout Design

Project Overview

The Jordan Communication, Advocacy, and Policy Project (JCAP) is a flagship initiative funded by USAID, aimed at promoting family planning, reproductive health, gender equity, and women’s empowerment in Jordan. To support their community outreach and institutional capacity building, JCAP required a comprehensive suite of high-quality, professional educational toolkits, training manuals, and field guides targeted at various community segments, including youth, men, newlyweds, and healthcare facilitators.

My Role & Contributions (Lead Graphic Designer)

As the lead graphic designer for this massive publishing initiative, I was responsible for transforming dense, technical, and academic manuscripts into highly engaging, visually structured, and print-ready educational resources. My creative contributions included:

  • Editorial & Layout Design: Establishing grid systems, typographic hierarchies, and consistent page layouts tailored to both digital reading and physical publishing.
  • Information Architecture: Designing intuitive tables, questionnaires, self-assessment forms, and conceptual diagrams (such as the SBCC socio-ecological model) to make complex behavioral change methodologies accessible and easy to implement in the field.
  • Branding & Visual Identity: Ensuring strict adherence to USAID identity guidelines, while creating unique, culturally relevant color palettes and design themes for each specific toolkit.
  • Pre-Press & Production Quality Control: Preparing all 10 major publications for offset printing and interactive PDF distribution, maintaining high visual standards across hundreds of pages.

Project Scope & Impact

Over the course of this project, I successfully designed and delivered 10 comprehensive training manuals and community guides, totaling 960 pages of professional graphic design.

The designed portfolio assets include:
